Yep! That's where Larry King works and several of their shows originitate... driving along, as you approach Vine Street and turn right. What's here now is a bank, but this used to be NBC Radio, (CBS Radio is just behind us). In the 1930's and 1940's all radio shows were live and Hollywood Stars regularlly appeared on the radio shows, so America heard about Hollywood through their radios which began by saying, "Live from the corner of Hollywood & Vine!" This tunnel has been used in Con Air, Independence Day, and of course, The Terminator - a major sequence was shot right here. My favorite story about filming in this location is: when they were shoting The Terminator just back there at the tunnel enterance. Well, they took a diner break. It wasn't a major budget film in those days and they didn't want to peel Arnold out of his Terminator make-up, so they all went down the street to The Pantry and had dinner. And here's Arnold with half of his face peeled off and his red-light eye ball staring at everybody. Did that shock the people at The Pantry? It could have, but nobody stopped eating!" (MP3 file. The first house we're going to see is on the left, 1803, this was used in Back to the Future II when Biff took the basketball from the kids on the sidewalk, but it probably has more notoriety from its use as the Fraternity house in Old School. Just to the right, is 1727, this was used in Teen Wolf as Michael J. Fox's house and it was used in Back to the Future as Lea Thompson's house. Let your eyes now follow along to the street where you can see the big branch that Crispin Glover (George McFly) was on in the tree with his binoculars looking at Lea Thompson. So this whole part of the street was used for that scene where he falls out of the tree into the road and Michael J. Fox (Marty McFly) pushes him out of the way, then gets hit by the car, which begins the whole 1955 story... (MP3 file. Length: 62 seconds. Size: 1 MB)
